Northwest Area Command Officer Appreciation Event Seeks Donations and Volunteers

Saturday, October 1 is Officer Appreciation Day at the Northwest Area Command and the community can help show their appreciation! Volunteers are needed and donations of items such as:

  • Hamburgers/Sandwiches
  • Hot dogs
  • Sides such as chips or salads
  • Plasticware, plates and cups
  • Gift items/gift cards

Items can be scheduled for pickup by calling Kiya Mullins at (505) 768-4850, dropped off at the NW Substation, 10401 Cibola Loop NW, or by contacting Pete Gelabert at: pgelabert@cabq.gov.

“Imagine Albuquerque” Day Aims To Create Citywide Community Cleanup and Connection

The Chaplaincy of Albuquerque Fire Rescue (AFR), Red Shovel Landscaping, AFR retirees, and other partners have designated Saturday, September 24 as “Imagine Albuquerque” Day. On that day, these partners will come together and spearhead a citywide clean-up and beautification initiative, volunteering their time to rake weeds, clean up trash and litter, and more. The idea behind “Imagine Albuquerque” is to showcase the positive in our city to leave our community better than how we found it. Kimo Theater Celebrating 95th Birthday with Free Community Party

The historic Kimo Theater is celebrating its 95th birthday on Wednesday, September 21 with a community-wide party and you’re invited! From 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., you’re invited to bring the family to celebrate the beloved building’s 95th birthday. Enjoy a self-guided tour full of KiMo history, live music by the Burque Jazz Bandits, and eats and treats from local vendors. Animal Welfare Department Hosting Adoption Clinic This Weekend

The Animal Welfare Department needs your help. There are 800 pets in our city that need good homes, and our shelters are full. Animal Welfare is hosting an adoption clinic this weekend, Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28, at the Eastside and Westside shelters, and the Everyday Adoption Center located in the Eubank PetSmart. The adoption fee is waived for all pets. Each adoption will include spay or neuter, a microchip, required vaccinations, and one free initial vet visit. For dogs, you will receive one free dog training class.
