Construction on Westside Blvd. for New Raw Water Transmission Pipeline

Our HOA recently received the following communication from Patti Watson, President of CWA Strategic Communications, regarding additional construction on Westside Boulevard.

“Hello, my name is Patti Watson and I am president of CWA Strategic Communications. You may recognize my name because I have been handling communications for the City of Albuquerque’s Westside Boulevard Widening Project since construction began in May 2021. My firm has been sending out construction updates and we handle the project website — https://www.westsidewidening.com/.

I also work with the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (Water Authority). The Water Authority is working with Intel Corporation to build a new raw water transmission pipeline that will allow Intel to expand its operations in Rio Rancho, creating jobs and new economic development opportunities.

A portion of this pipeline, titled Bid Package 1—Westside Blvd on the map will be laid on the south side of Westside Blvd. from west of Golf Course Road to west of NM 528. The Water Authority is coordinating with the City of Albuquerque so that this portion of the pipeline can be built while the City’s project is still underway, before the roadway is repaved and/or the curb and sidewalk are removed and replaced.
