Happy 250th birthday, America! Summer is off to a hot start, and we’re still in a drought advisory, so we’re sharing ways you can conserve water while staying cool. Check out our article about evaporative cooler strategies for best performance and water efficiency. We’ve also got some tips to help you keep mosquitoes at bay when you head outside to enjoy your patio during those lovely morning and evening hours.

Do you still have a grass lawn and worry about keeping it watered in this hot, dry weather? It might be time to convert to a desert-friendly xeriscape. Not ready to transform your grass? Consider improving your irrigation system by taking advantage of our generous irrigation rebates.

DROUGHT WATERING REMINDERS:

  • Sprinkler and spray irrigation is not allowed between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. from now until Oct. 31 to minimize losses to wind and evaporation.
  • Customers who use more than twice their winter watering average may incur conservation surcharges. Visit our website to learn more.
  • Water by the Numbers: Just THREE DAYS a WEEK with spray irrigation for grass lawns.
  • Water trees and shrubs for 90 minutes with drip irrigation TWICE a WEEK or 55 minutes with a hose ONCE a WEEK.
  • Please report water waste if you see water in the street!
  • Turn off those sprinklers if it rains more than a ½ inch
