Hello Albuquerque, This week, legislators from all across New Mexico will convene in Santa Fe for the special session. This is an important opportunity to address the various challenges our communities are facing, especially when it comes to public safety. As a former state Senator, I know that the constraints of our state Constitution and having only 60/30-day sessions leave little choice for urgent and important policymaking. I always support the ideas of a special session to have more time to address the big issues in our state. We look forward to working together with partners from all over the state to develop meaningful solutions that can enhance public safety and improve quality of life for all residents. We are also bolstering our own programs to fight crime and curb homelessness. Earlier this month, we joined the community to celebrate the opening of the ACS headquarters. This innovative public safety team has exceeded expectations since being established in 2021, and continues to improve response time and service. Additionally, APD recently completed a proactive transit safety operation along the Central corridor which resulted in 106 felony warrants cleared and 65 felony arrests. And last but not least, we’re investing in our front line workers. We signed a historic collective bargaining agreement with IAFF Local 244, and now all labor unions have these multi-year agreements. Tonight, Wednesday, July 17, we will be hosting a telephone town hall where City leaders can answer your questions and will be discussing City projects and updates, from community center improvements to crime fighting efforts to summer resources for the whole family. Register for the town hall online. We also invite you to save the date and join us in person on Saturday, August 17 at the ABQ BioPark Zoo for the annual State of the City address. State of the City is free and for all ages, so bring the whole family and enjoy an evening at our incredible zoo. We deeply appreciate your shared commitment to improving our city. Albuquerque is worth fighting for, and we will continue to work each and every day to make it a better place for our friends and families. Sincerely, Mayor Tim Keller READ ENTIRE NEWSLETTER |

ONE Albuquerque January Newsletter
Happy New Year, Albuquerque.
As we embark on 2024, we are taking time to reflect on the many successes of the last year like a record-breaking Balloon Fiesta, major progress on housing policy, expanding public safety resources, and so much more. In fact, you can find out more about our City’s accomplishments here in our “Year in Review” report.
We are also taking time to refresh our efforts and focus on making Albuquerque the best city for families. In just a few weeks, we will be at the legislative session, advocating for funding and policies that can move our city forward in these endeavors.
For the first time in decades, crime stats are trending in the right direction. Plans for better access and more housing are actually being realized. That’s why we must double down and capitalize on this momentum as we are looking to partner with the State to invest in needed services.
No city has more potential than ABQ to be the best place for families. But this is only something we can achieve together. Join us in our crusade during the session and let your legislators know that it’s time to give ABQ families the attention they deserve. And if you want to take your community engagement to the next level, the City offers so many opportunities to get involved through jobs, volunteering, or even boards and commissions like the ones listed in this letter.
Let’s fulfill the promise of Albuquerque together.
Sincerely,
Mayor Tim Keller
It’s the Holiday Season
Hello Albuquerque,
This is truly the best time of year in Albuquerque. Besides getting to spend time with our loved ones, it’s always so special to see the snow-capped Sandias, luminarias lining the street, and our community coming together to celebrate the triumphs of the last year and the promise of the next one.
This is also an important time for us to take stock and evaluate how we can better support one another. This could look like supporting local businesses as you shop for holiday gifts, or joining our Civic Engagement team and getting involved in community service opportunities. You could even join one of our many boards and commissions and help make a difference in City policy.
There are so many ways to get involved in our incredible, unique community and to make a positive impact. We are so fortunate to call Albuquerque our home, and we are ready to take on another year moving our city forward and fulfilling its potential.
On behalf of the City of Albuquerque, we wish you a happy and healthy holiday season.
Sincerely,
Mayor Tim Keller
ONE Albuquerque Autumn Newsletter
Greetings,
We hope you are enjoying autumn in Albuquerque. From the golden leaves to balloon filled skies to roasting green chile, there are so many reminders of how truly unique and beautiful this city is.
This year’s Balloon Fiesta saw a record number of attendees, with over 316,000 visitors traveling through Sunport alone. The annular solar eclipse added another outstanding show, an event my family won’t soon forget. We are so grateful for the hard work of our City team and the entire community who made this year’s Fiesta a success.
We also celebrated two years of the Albuquerque Community Safety Department this fall. This department is the first of its kind, dispatching trained responders to 911 and 311 calls for mental and behavioral health, substance use, and homelessness. The stories that the community and our responders share about the department show how this approach is working in Albuquerque, and I invite you to read about a recent call below.
October also brought the opening of the highly anticipated Asia habitat at our Bio Park, giving animals dynamic new environments to call home and our families a world-class experience in the heart of our city. We renovated the Trumbull Child Development Center and reopened the center for kids, giving our littlest learners and their parents needed services in their neighborhood, and we secured funding to continue investing in our open spaces across Albuquerque.
Every day, I see the work our community is doing to fulfill the promise of Albuquerque, writing new chapters in our story. While we certainly have our challenges, there is so much to celebrate and that’s what fuels us as we work towards a better city for our families. We appreciate everyone who shares this vision and drive with us, and we are looking forward to what the future has in store.
Sincerely,
Mayor Tim Keller
