Youth Job and Volunteer Fair Coming Up This Weekend, February 4th

Know a teen or young adult between 14 and 25 who’s looking for a job or who wants to volunteer? The City’s Youth Job and Volunteer Fair is just the place for them! This event takes place Saturday, February 4 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Berna Facio Professional Development Center, 3315  Louisiana NE. There will be a wide range of job possibilities and volunteer opportunities available for all skill levels. The Environmental Planning Commission (EPC) will hear the IDO Annual Update on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 8:30 am via Zoom.

  • Comments sent by 9 a.m. on Monday, January 9th will be considered in the staff report.
  • Comments sent by noon on Thursday, January 12th will be appended to the staff report. 
  • Comments sent by 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17th will be forwarded to EPC for review prior to the hearing.
  • Send comments addressed to Chair MacEachen to abctoz@cabq.gov.

Attend the Hearing

  • Agenda will be posted here.
    • (Note that the IDO amendments will be heard first and second on the agenda.) 
  • If you would like to speak on a particular agenda item, raise your hand when public comments are taken for each case.
    • Typically, Neighborhood Association Representatives and other organizations are given 5 minutes to speak.
    • Individuals are typically given 2 minutes to speak.

“Converting Hotels to Housing” Public Meeting Tuesday, December 6

Family and Community Services is hosting a public meeting to discuss the possibility of hotel and motel conversions as a strategy to increase the housing supply in Albuquerque. The meeting takes place Tuesday, December 6 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at the Albuquerque Convention Center Anasazi Room (lower level, west complex). 401 2nd St. NW. Bernalillo County “Take A Ride on Us” Offers Uber Discount Code for the Holidays

The Bernalillo County Department of Behavioral Health Services, Cumulus Media, the New Mexico Department of Transportation, and Whitener Law Firm, announce details for a safe ride option for holiday party weekend celebrations. The Take a Ride on Us campaign is offering 1,000 rides, Friday through Sunday, beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at noon through Sunday, Dec. 18, at midnight. Participants can redeem the Uber code PARTY22 to get the discount. Each code is good for 2 rides per person, $10 off per ride. The credit can only be used for rides and not Uber Eats, and the discount doesn’t cover tip.
