New APD Smartphone App Aims to Enhance Safety and Communication

The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) introduces its new smartphone app, Atlas One. Atlas One is designed to be more user-friendly and will provide an improved experience for community and police communication and interaction.

Users are asked to first delete the previous APD app from their phones, as it is no longer functional. Then, install the new app by searching for “Atlas One” in your app store, downloading it and creating an account.

You can report non-emergency situations from the app, send messages and receive notification replies to your sent messages. As always, report emergencies by calling 911. To learn more about the new APD app, visit: https://www.cabq.gov/311/connect-with-us/abq-apps/city-apps-listing/apdmobile-app

MRMPO Seeks Feedback on Albuquerque Long-Range Transportation Plan

The Mid-Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (MRMPO) is kicking off the update to the greater Albuquerque metropolitan area’s long-range transportation plan, the Transitions 2045 MTP and seeks feedback from the public on the plan. The 2045 Transitions MTP will highlight existing transportation conditions, future needs, and identify projects to help meet our regional and federal goals.

Please take this opportunity to comment on transportation in the region. The survey seeks to understand what is important to you when it comes to transportation vision, goals, and specific areas you find challenging along your daily route. There is an online survey the public can take that is fun, interactive, and should take less than five minutes. Please take the survey through Friday, February 16 at: https://metroquestsurvey.com/mwq23. For any questions about the MTP or upcoming meetings, please contact Peach Anderson-Tauzer at: panderson-tauzer@mrcog-nm.gov or 505-843-1728.

Fixit Clinic Will Teach You To Fix your Household Items

The Solid Waste Management Department and Keep Albuquerque Beautiful will partner with Quelab Makerspace and Fuse Makerspace to host this year’s Fixit Clinic on Saturday, February 24, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, at the Quelab Makerspace, 680 Haines Ave NW. Bring your broken household items and learn from our experienced coaches how they can be repaired. This is a free, all-ages event where people can learn how to assess, disassemble, and hopefully repair broken household items instead of sending them to the landfill. The acceptable items include bikes, small appliances, electronics, and sewing projects.

There is also need for skilled individuals who are handy and experienced in sewing, woodwork, leatherwork, electronics, small appliances, and jewelry, so please register if you have any of these skills.

For more information, call 311 or visit: https://www.cabq.gov/solidwaste/our-department/events/fixit-clinic
