Northwest Area Command Invites You To “Coffee With A Cop” Tuesday, January 21st

The Northwest Area Command of the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) cordially invites the public to “Coffee With a Cop” next Tuesday, January 21 at 8:00 a.m. at Donut Mart, 3301 Coors NW. This is a great opportunity for members of the community to meet the officers, ask questions and share concerns, and enjoy complimentary coffee. City Closures for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day will be commemorated on Monday, January 20 and some City offices and departments will be closed. However, there will be regular trash and recycle pickup, regular bus and Sun Van service, and the 311 Call Center will be open to take calls. Dog House Donation Drive Hosted by Animal Welfare Department

The Animal Welfare Department is seeking donations of new or gently used dog houses to help pet owners who need assistance during the cold winter months. Medium to large-sized dog houses are needed most, and can be custom-built if you’re handy with hammer and nails.

You can drop off doghouse donations at the Eastside Shelter, 8920 Lomas NE or at the Westside Shelter, 11800 Sunset Gardens SW, any day between 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. For more information, contact Allen Hargis at: ahargis@cabq.gov
