Image
Dash for the Trash is an exciting community event hosted by Keep Albuquerque Beautiful and the Solid Waste Management Department, aimed at beautifying the Bosque area through a fun and competitive cleanup. Prizes will be awarded to the top cleaners and the top groups of cleaners, so participants will be welcome to sign up as individuals or groups.
The Bosque, a beloved natural area, requires continual care, and “Dash for the Trash” provides the perfect opportunity for individuals to unite and make a meaningful difference. By blending the spirit of competition with community service, we aim to inspire more residents to get involved and take pride in keeping Albuquerque beautiful. The event takes place Saturday, October 12 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. You can register at: https://www.oneabqvolunteers.com/need/detail/?need_id=981611

Fixit Clinic Coming Up October 25th
Image
Keep Albuquerque Beautiful, in partnership with Fuse Makerspace, is excited to host this year’s fall Fix It Clinic on Friday, October 25 from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. This free, all-ages event provides a unique opportunity for participants to bring their broken household items such as bikes, small appliances, electronics, and sewing projects, and learn how to repair them with the guidance of experienced coaches. Instead of sending these items to the landfill, attendees will learn valuable skills in assessing, disassembling, and fixing their belongings.
The Fix It Clinic is more than just a repair event; it’s an educational experience that fosters sustainability and creativity. Last year, we had 31 coaches assist 69 participants in diagnosing and repairing their items, with attendees expressing high satisfaction from the hands-on, expert assistance they received. Participants can register at: https://www.oneabqvolunteers.com/need/detail/?need_id=981627.
