
IDO Annual Update 2023
Proposed Changes
Planning staff has submitted proposed changes to the City’s zoning code – the Integrated Development Ordinance (IDO) – for the 2023 IDO Annual Update to the Environmental Planning Commission (EPC) as the first step in the City’s review and decision process.

This year’s update includes Citywide text amendments that are provided in a spreadsheet of all proposed changes, supporting memos by City Council, and exhibits for changes that are longer or that involve multiple sections.
This year’s update includes 3 small area text amendments:
- Design regulations for development next to the Rail Trail
- Drive-throughs allowed in Volcano Heights Urban Center
- Referral to Tribal Nations for development next to the Petroglyph National Monument and the Albuquerque Indian School Area
Review and Comment
Deadline for Comments
- Comments sent by Tuesday, December 5 at 9 am will be appended to the staff report.
- Comments sent by Tuesday, December 12 at 9 am will be forwarded to the EPC for consideration at the hearing (“the 48-hour rule”).
