Longtime Seven Bar North HOA Chair John Currier Steps Down After 24 Years

After nearly a quarter-century of dedicated volunteer service, John Currier has resigned as Chair of the Seven Bar North Homeowners Association Landscaping Committee. Currier, who first began volunteering with the HOA in 2001, leaves behind a legacy of meticulously maintained landscaping, irrigation, and community trails that have become a source of "considerable pride" for homeowners. Though stepping down as chair, Currier isn't entirely leaving the project he helped build; he will continue to serve the committee by personally tending to foliage in the North Seven Bar area.
John also volunteers at Habitat for Humanity and the Rio Grande Nature Center. He spends time with his family at his cabin in the mountains where he enjoys the wildlife.

Testimonials from Board Members

Thank you, John, for all you have done for our community. You have served the HOA for many years in different capacities. The HOA has continued to benefit from the knowledge and experience you have gained over the years. We homeowners take considerable pride in the natural beauty of Seven Bar North, and that is largely due to your efforts in maintaining our landscaping and walking trails. Moreover, your leadership chairing the HOA’s Landscaping Committee has inspired others on the Committee to carry on the work of maintaining our beautiful environment. There is no more that one can ask of a community volunteer.

Terry Unruh
President

John Currier will be missed greatly. His knowledge, passion, and institutional knowledge of Seven Bar North have been invaluable in our efforts to keep our community "highly desirable". It is a tribute to John that our landscaping and trails are impeccable. His efforts have made such a vast difference for our community. We have been fortunate to have had such a skilled arborist to plan and maintain our beautiful landscaping. Thank you for your service to the HOA and community, John.

Former Vice President

John was an integral part of the HOA as Chair of the Landscaping Committee. He continues to be, even though he resigned as Chair. He still maintains the trees in our association. He is dedicated to keeping our area attractive. Earlier this year, he made a point to view my backyard and advised me on the best plantings to get. John earned having the Currier Way path named after him.

Secretary

John Currier recruited me to the Landscape Committee in 2016. He asked if I would take over the two flowerbeds at the south end of the 7 Bar North HOA just before the Black Arroyo, and I agreed to do so. Collaborating with him on that project was my initiation to the “Currier Way.” His no nonsense, direct approach to getting the
job done right while always maintaining fairness and a respect for those executing the task was something I observed from the beginning.

He has donated many a year as a volunteer to making sure the trees, landscaping, irrigation, and hardscape are maintained and improved upon in our HOA. His care is evident when you walk or drive into our neighborhood. John never asked for thanks or recognition and even this will probably make him cringe but thank you John for everything you have done. It is much appreciated.
